Keeping boys busy in the winter time is not an easy task. We've been to the local aquatic center, the dollar movies, I found a cute little bakery with a chef area for the kids, but my favorite night last week was a date night with Jake. Jesse went out to see the marathon movie with his fellow runners and cousins Jessica & Blake. Josh went home with grandma Loni and so we decided to make an evening of it.
We went to dinner and the museum, which we do often, but not usually with just the two of us. He was so sweet, he insisted on carrying my purse around for me, opened the doors, and at the end of the evening he kissed my hand (since it was right at his level) and thanked me for spending time with him. I need to do it more often.
It reminded me of our year in Colorado, Jesse was always busy working and it was just me and Jake. I am so grateful for my children and the special place they have in our home and our hearts.

That is the cutest little story about Jake. I want my little boy to grow up sweet like that.
What a great idea. I need to start doing that!
That is so cute. What a little gentleman. I always loved "Daddy Daughter Dates" with my dad. Just one on one time with them is so great. You are the cutest mom.
